The Project Requirements

  • Structural integrity was a priority to ensure the building’s strength and safety, especially with the modular tilt-up wall construction technique for the warehouse mezzanine.

  • The interior required a modern yet classic finish to create an inspiring and sophisticated work environment.

  • All materials used had to align with the EWPAA's commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.

  • Both exterior and interior materials needed to facilitate a smooth and efficient installation process to keep the project on schedule.

The Solution

STRUCTAflor YELLOWtongue, typically used in flooring, was chosen for the external wall lining application because of its strength and reliability. Due to its Bracing Certification, it provides robust support and protection, critical for the modular tilt-up wall construction technique. STRUCTAflor was also selected for its acoustic advantages, effectively reducing the noise entering the offices from the adjacent testing workshops.

On the build’s inside, EWPAA is using easycraft easyVJ100 made from medium-density fibreboard (MDF) for their internal walls. This product is a pre-finished wall panel that features a VJ (vertical joint) profile. Recognised for its seamless blend of classic charm and modern convenience, easyVJ100 effortlessly transforms plain walls into captivating focal points, adding depth and character to the office environment.

The EWPAA's Brisbane office renovation is a great example of how EWPs can be used to create sustainable and stylish building projects. With their commitment to sustainability and innovation, EWPAA is trying to set a new standard for office design in Brisbane.

Project Review

"The structural capabilities of STRUCTAflor were a major factor in selecting it for the exterior walls." EWPAA CEO Gavin Matthew said. "It’s bracing certification plays a vital role in ensuring the overall strength and safety of our building and was instrumental for building using tilt-up wall panels to safely eliminate the need for scaffolding to build the warehouse mezzanine offices”.

“At EWPAA, we wanted to create an inspiring and sophisticated work environment for our team. easycraft's easyVJ100 panels offered the perfect solution. Moreover, easycraft's commitment to sustainability, resonated deeply with our own environmental ethos. The fact that their wood fibre is sourced through sustainable forestry practices was a crucial key factor in our decision.”
